Clean Beauty is defined as products formulated with ingredients that you can trust, while also having a reduced environmental impact, whether it's from their content or packaging.
Choosing reusability over recycling reduces energy consumption. That's why we offer a range of products that you can refill at home or packages that you can reuse.
REFILL
This refers to original packaging that can be refilled to reduce single-use plastic packaging waste.
REUSE
These packages are designed for repeated use without significant modification, making them a more sustainable alternative to single-use throw-away equivalents.
REPLACE
This refers to the original packaging or products with parts that can be replaced to extend their lifespan and reduce waste.
At Watsons, we source products formulated with ingredient or made from materials that support responsibly managed forests and plantations, or that have a reduced plastic content, or that use recycled plastic content in some components.
Better Ingredients
Sustainable palm oil is formulated with a minimum of 50% total palm oil derivatives certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) or with content coming from responsibly managed palm oil plantations.
Other ingredients are sourced according to the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) standards to promote sourcing that respects people and biodiversity.
Better Materials
Sustainable paper comes from responsibly managed forests (FSC, PEFC) or with a minimum of 50% recycled paper content.
Reduced virgin plastic refers to a reduction of at least 20% plastic content or substitution in non-formulated products.
More than 8 million tons of plastics are discarded each year in our oceans, so choosing products with less packaging or better packaging is important. Watsons sources products with packaging made from materials that support responsibly managed forests or use recycled plastic or paper content.
Recycled content uses fewer virgin materials by using recycled materials instead. Packaging is made with either recycled plastic, metal or glass.
Sustainable paper is made from responsibly managed forests, or with a minimum of 50% recycled paper content.
“No plastic packaging” promotes products with zero inner and outer plastic packaging wherever plastic packaging is mainstream in the market.
